CEO John Borden,
Chief Operations Director Bonnie Delashmit,
and Accounting Manager Steve Phillips
John is an accomplished executive and youth development leader with a proven record of elevating tennis programs, facilities, and community engagement. As President & CEO of the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF) from 2021 to 2024, he led a $25 million organization serving more than 600 students, expanding its tennis and education impact through new partnerships, major investments, and a development-focused player pathway. Previously, as COO and Interim CEO, he modernized operations, doubled tennis department revenue, and secured key grants to strengthen programs and staff. Earlier, at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) in College Park, MD, he oversaw multimillion-dollar budgets, facility upgrades, and curriculum design that boosted participation by 21%. A former Director of Tennis and lifelong advocate for the sport, John holds a Juris Doctorate from Howard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Villanova University, and serves on multiple national tennis and pickleball boards.
With extensive experience in higher education, workforce development, and business operations, Bonnie Delashmit brings operational leadership to Tennis Memphis. As Executive Director of Workforce Education and Institutional Advancement at Remington College, she developed industry focused certification programs, launched a 2,000 member alumni association, ,and established scholarship initiatives to enhance student success. Her career includes senior leadership roles as Vice President of Operations and President for multi-campus institutions, where she strengthened organizational performance, partnerships, and community engagement. Bonnie holds a MBA in Entrepreneurship, Negotiation, and Economics from Mississippi State University, along with a Certificate in Fundraising and Development from UC Davis.
Steve Phillips joins Tennis Memphis as our new Accounting Manager, bringing decades of financial leadership and a heart for the Memphis community. A lifelong Memphian, Steve earned both his BBA and MBA from the University of Memphis and is a licensed CPA. He spent the majority of his career in business development and finance with Time Warner, where he supported growth initiatives and financial strategy across multiple divisions. We are excited to welcome Steve to the Tennis Memphis team and look forward to the expertise and dedication he brings to our mission.
